Aluzinc

Aluzinc, often referred to as Galvalume or Zincalume, is a material characterised by its dual metallic components that provide a protective barrier against corrosion. This product involves a hot dip coating applied to a steel base, where the aluminium on the coating's surface works in conjunction with the sacrificial properties of zinc to enhance durability.

The double-sided coating, typically composed of 55% aluminium, 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon, is applied through a continuous galvanizing process. This method results in the appealing 'spangled silver' finish. Additionally, a thin layer of aluminium oxide develops on the surface, helping to maintain its aesthetic appeal for many years.

  • Advantages

Aluzinc's exceptional resistance to corrosion stems from the unique characteristics of its two metallic components: the aluminium layer on the coating's surface provides a barrier effect, while zinc offers sacrificial protection. The distinctive spangled silver hue of Aluzinc contributes to its appealing aesthetic. This attractive appearance is maintained over time due to a thin, layer of aluminium oxide that forms on the coating's surface. Furthermore, Aluzinc presents several additional benefits:

- Strong corrosion resistance even at elevated temperatures

- High abrasion resistance attributed to its surface hardness

- Excellent thermal and light reflectivity
